LILA

Jonathan chose "Lila" as his favorite piece in the Impressionism series, without a moment of hesitation.
Lila, the greyhound in the photograph is his dog, rescued from Spanish hunters. In Spain, greyhounds that failed in hunting were not only abused but also faced the threat of euthanasia at the hands of the hunters. Thus, the sight of Lila now, safe and strong with Jonathan’s family, holds deep significance.
Jonathan sought to embed a story of “recovery” into this photograph. The warmth of the background, the strength of the subject, and Lila’s white fur dancing playfully—are more reasons why the artist holds such affection for this piece.
